Leland high school in San Jose made headlines earlier this month when they admitted their first feline student. Yeah, you read that right. Bubba lives behind the school and hangs out here all day. The staff eventually caved in and made things OFFICIAL!
He even has his own locker, I bet its full of treats :)
And is permitted to take cat-naps as long as he maintains purrfect grades
Following closely on the heels of the much praised 'Exit through the gift shop', this film made waves in the kitty art world. Banksy is a genius like no other!
Check out the trailer below:
Did he have a 'paw' in this or not, we may never find out...
Listen up humans, this one is for you. A study released by Animal Planet shows white fish, cheese, steamed veggies, eggs and cooked poultry are kosher for us!
'Best Friends Animal Society' is a no-kill animal shelter in Salt Lake City, Utah with a branch in LA. Recently, they launched a PR campaign to encourage people to adopt the high number of cats and kittens that have accumulated in their sanctuary. Who can resist these purritos?!
Check them out at http://bestfriends.org/ and find your forever friend. Much love and best of luck to these great folks.
Talkeetna is a funky town in Alaska and a gateway to Mt. McKinley and Denali National Park. Spend a day there and you will get a feel for this scenic small town's vibe.
It's been called 'America's coolest small town' for good reason and its residents are creative alright. A cat named Stubbs has been the mayor since 1997!! He was voted in through a write-in campaign.
Stubbs has endured a lot during his tenure including being attacked by a dog with lofty political ambitions but he is one resilient kitty. Here's a picture of him during his recovery.
I beg to differ with fact #7, its too generic. And yes, there is a feline mayor in the US, more in my next post.
As per fact# 25, I'm male and a southpaw.. ha ha.
San Sebastian is the culinary gem of Spain. Located in the Basque region, its known for its several 3-star Michelin restaurants and amazing cuisine. Recently there was a photo essay on the culinary masterpieces from this region on CNN.
Inspiration set in and voila..canned food suddenly looked very appetizing! I can't wait for next Sunday.
A good read that blows out of the water the age-old 'sad stigma' associated with cat people. Cat people, dog people are all cool people. Share your space with a pet, save a life and in turn enrich yours!
The Japanese islands of Tashirojima and Aoshima have been in the news lately. The cats there outnumber the people and the islands have of course become huge tourist attractions. Adding this to my bucket list - visit Cat islands of Japan, god I love sushi!!

Regular felines like us have a total of 18 toes, 5 each on the front paws and 4 on the rear. Polydactyl cats due to a genetic abnormality have upto 26 toes!! Imagine all the extra grooming :(
Ernest Hemingway, the great author was gifted a polydactyl cat which he fondly raised. Soon there were little polydactyls running all over the hemingway house ("One cat leads to another"). Now his house is a museum and one of the big attractions on this Key West island home is its huge brood of 'mutant' cats. They are named after celebrities, just like me and are taken good care of.
