Ban Declawing

On a serious note, cat lovers for ages have de-clawed their pets having no idea about the tremendous pain cats have to endure. Our claws are an extension of the bone and to de-claw is literally to maim.
Big cats in animal sanctuaries are often also subjected to this torturous practice.

Dr. Jennifer Conrad has started a movement to bring awareness to this terrible practice and eventually help enact a ban. Twelve European nations, Australia and Brazil have already enacted bans. Vets, please don't participate in de-clawing procedures. Spread the word and do checkout the website and movie.

A street cat named Bob

This is a touching story about a street cat named Bob who helped Bowen, a busker, wake up and clean up his act. A movie is in the works based on their best selling book, grab a box of tissues and soak in yet another case of 'cat saves human'. Rumor has it Johnny Depp might star in the movie, wowiiieeee.

Howdy .. and some office humor

Its time to turn the clocks back today. The long summer is finally over and I'm back on the couch catching up on snooze and newz.
Here's a fun post I ran into that seems to pretty much capture sound bites I overhear from mom about her coworkers! Enjoy.

Dogs do things like this,

a tear-jerker even for a macho cat like me...

My parents watched an episode of "Cat from Hell' (hmm...not sure why they would watch that series) and decided to try out one of host Jackson's suggestions to keep me entertained. Turns out he knows a thing or two about cats. Thanks dude!

The fireplace mantel has been cleared and I have plenty of jumping room.

Book recommendation

I was MIA during the second half of 2012 for good reasons.
I was buried in this captivating book for at least a couple of months...granted I'm a slow reader and lose focus easily. Between this and doing the neighborhood runs and chasing lizards, I didn't have much time for the blog-sphere.

Here's the book, I'm stuck on the 'Share' chapter featuring a popup rat. Good read and lots of tabs to chew on!

Happy New Year - 2013! One Resolution in the bag already :)

I know, I know, you were wondering if a coyote got to me or if I just fell off the face of the planet. I'm alright and am back. Have been busy doing other stuff, will get you caught up over the next few posts. For now, I wanted to share one of the first things I did this year. This has been on the wishlist of me..err.. my parents for a while now and they finally took me to the beach. Yep, the beach!

Let me tell you something, the beach is no place for a cat. There's humans everywhere giving us puzzled looks, the seagulls seemed to actually laugh at me (i was on a leash) and the water was cooooold! I have been threatened with this trip for months now, glad to get it over with and I'm still here to talk about it.

Looking back, it wasn't too bad. Was good to be out in the sun, the waves were fun to watch. Looked to me like they had someplace to go, but kept getting cold feet and retreating. This goes on in an endless loop, go figure. I dunno if I'll make it a habit, but I might venture out one of these days again... yeah right!

One giant step for cats..ahem.. which way to the car?
Yay

Took forever to towel off and get rid of the salty sand
