A good read that blows out of the water the age-old 'sad stigma' associated with cat people. Cat people, dog people are all cool people. Share your space with a pet, save a life and in turn enrich yours!

Kitty Utopia or Dystopia?!
From the land of Hello Kitty...

The Japanese islands of Tashirojima and Aoshima have been in the news lately. The cats there outnumber the people and the islands have of course become huge tourist attractions. Adding this to my bucket list - visit Cat islands of Japan, god I love sushi!!
Check out this video and subsequent link for more photos:

The Old man and six-toed cats
Regular felines like us have a total of 18 toes, 5 each on the front paws and 4 on the rear. Polydactyl cats due to a genetic abnormality have upto 26 toes!! Imagine all the extra grooming :(

Ernest Hemingway, the great author was gifted a polydactyl cat which he fondly raised. Soon there were little polydactyls running all over the hemingway house ("One cat leads to another"). Now his house is a museum and one of the big attractions on this Key West island home is its huge brood of 'mutant' cats. They are named after celebrities, just like me and are taken good care of. And it was called "Yellow"
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow"
...

Just a lazy spring day, admiring all things yellow in the back patio.
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow"
